MacBook random shutdowns

September 27, 2006 · 1 Comment

This test appears to be a fairly good predictor to see if your MacBook has the random reboot problem.

More from Dave Winer who says his is rebooting every 10 minutes, plus there’s a blog about it now, MacBook Random Shutdown.

A computer that randomly reboots every few minutes could drive anyone more than a little crazy. When the MacBook was first released I thought, sounds great, let’s wait at least a year before getting one. Then they’ll have gotten all the bugs out of it. Hey, some of the batteries for them were catching on fire too, which is certainly not Apple’s fault, but still, it’s another symptom of a new product still working out the kinks.

All of which demonstrates more reasons to wait at least a year before installing Vista.
