RIAA chief says ripping ok
Further, he says the WaPo story was “just wrong” but also says their attorney “misspoke” when he said ripping was illegal. While those two statements would appear to be in conflict, ie, WaPo was simply reporting what the lawyer said, it appears RIAA may have a few operational brain cells left.
However, since Sony just announced they will sell non-DRM mp3s, which means all the major record companies have now abandoned DRM, there’s little reason left for RIAA to exist, is there?
