One of Scoble's computers just died. I upgraded Sue's laptop last night to the new version of Panda Security and it refused to boot. Even F3 to get to Safe Mode didn't work.
Was it the other programs I de-installed first? Something weird on her laptop? Or Panda itself? Dunno, the same Panda had installed with zero problems on three other computers.
An uber-geek friend fixed it for free (it would have cost a few hundred otherwise) but the real point is, computers are getting too complicated and quirky. Cars don't act this flaky. Neither do land-line phones. They did in their early days, but haven't for decades. That's where computers need to get to, being as reliable as a land line phone.
